Norfolk County Commissioners Award Grant to Domestic Violence Ended (DOVE) of Quincy

DEDHAM – The Norfolk County Commissioners recently presented a grant award to DOVE (Domestic Violence Ended) of Quincy, MA. 

 

Established in 1978, DOVE assists thousands of victims of domestic violence each year through 24-hour hotlines, emergency shelter and community services. During the last three decades, DOVE has grown from a small shelter program to a comprehensive multi-service agency providing life-saving services addressing the complex issues of domestic violence.

The grant was unanimously approved by vote of the County Commissioners, Francis O’Brien of Dedham (Chairman), John Gillis of Quincy, and Peter Collins of Milton.  “We’re proud to be associated with DOVE, and the important work it does,” said Commissioner Gillis.

 

 

Sue Chandler, Executive Director of DOVE, thanked the Commissioners for their support.  “On behalf of the women and children who receive our services, DOVE greatly appreciates the County Commissioners’ generous donation.  We thank you for your continued support,” said Chandler.   DOVE’s programs include an Emergency Shelter for victims and their families, Community-based Individual Advocacy Services, and Community Outreach and Education.
